EAGLE PASS, Texas – Citing a need for finding more creative approaches for helping children succeed, retired teacher and long time resident of Maverick County, Glenna Purcell, announced her candidacy for Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustee, Place 7, today.

Glenna was appointed in March of 2010 to fill the seat of her late husband, Lynn Purcell, on the School Board. After serving over four months in his place, she has seen a need for her continued involvement as a Trustee on the School Board.

Following in her husband’s footsteps, she will continue advocating for her fellow teachers and staff, keeping in mind the importance of the success of our school children. In addition, Glenna intends to continue the oversight of the construction of the Student Activity Center and other ongoing construction projects.

Glenna asks for the support of the public and she hopes everyone will get out and vote and be the voice for the children of our community on November 2, 2010.
